Cory took us to this great old fort. He and Len just love history! |

Later I talk about this great tunnel that led from the main part of the fort to the other side of the hill where the cannons were located to protect the harbor. It was a cool tunnel and made a great backdrop for this photo. |

A view from down below the fort on the other side of the rock tunnel. |

Dusty is standing in what we surmised was and old wagon trail where the heavy laden wagons would take the cannonballs for the cannons. |

An old shot furnace for making ammunition for the cannons and guns used to protect the harbor and Fort Griswold. |
We visited an old fort on day. It had a lot of history and looked down on the bay. The weather was great and it was toward the end of the day so the sunset was fantastic. They used this battlement to protect the harbor.

Fall leaves of New England |
We tried to get to New England when the leaves were at their peak but this year they had a long summer so the leaves were just starting to turn colors. It was still glorious to see.
At the old fort there was an old trail where you could see they had wagons that took munitions to the cannons. There was an old tunnel made of rock that went from one side of the fort to the outer wall. It was a neat place to have some fun.
