New England 2013

Our first day in New England Cory took us to our first Lighthouse and beach. This I believe was Newport Beach Rhode Island. Hey guys which way to we go????
The day was a little overcast but the temperatures were great!
Always a treasure to find at the beach. We were surely looking hard. Not like California beaches where there are crabs and other things to find, we really had to look hard to find even a shell.
Ok there Mr. GQ
It's been a favorite pastime ever since the boys were little to look for sea creatures when at the beach. I remember a time when they found a ton of Star Fish and they brought them all home to us in California. They had buckets full and were sure they were going to make a fortune selling them or keeping them as pets! They died!
So here is Lighthouse #1, I wish I would have written the names down, but I guess that really doesn't matter, it's a lighthouse!!!
Our first day in New England started in Rhode Island as that is where we flew into. Lighthouse #2
It was so great to see Cory again. It has been nearly a whole year since he moved to Connecticut with the US Coast Guard.
Dusty flew in to meet up with us and it was a great reunion with him also, it had been over a year since Len had seen Dusty.
We just had to get a picture of the little rental car we used for this grand adventure. We lovingly nicknamed it the "Clown Car" as it reminded us of the little cars clowns all pile out of in the circus.
Len and his two older sons.
This year at the end of September we had the opportunity to go to Connecticut, where Cory is stationed with the Coast Guard, to visit and site see. Dustin was able to fly in and join us for our adventures. Cory is stationed at the Coast Guard Academy doing Public Relations.

We spent the first day exploring the beaches and shoreline close to Cory's house in Mystic CT. It was such a great day of exploration and conversation as we re-bonded with our two oldest sons. There was a plaque attached to the rocks here, so we assumed that maybe someone had scattered the ashes of a loved one here.
