Stitching!

I am learning to stitch and have enjoyed working with art my boys create! The one I am working on now is a drawing of Dustin's which is almost finished!
This drawing of Cory's is next and I am doing it for my sister Ann who is a pilot! It's Amelia Earhart signifying flight!  Thanks boys for doing these for me! When Peye finishes his school I will get one from him , right now he is too bus!

Saturday afternoons

Ww took a little time to explore Santa Clara Utah recently we found this oldormon tithing grainary that has been converted into a restaurant! We just poked around a little!
We also went on a bike ride on river road trail between St George and Bloomington. And that was really fun! It's always fun to do things with my sweetheart!

Daddy's girl!

Pete is such a great dad! His little Juliet loves her daddy. When she hears the key turn in the door at the end of the day she runs for the door yelling da da da da! She wraps her arms tight around her daddy!

Sweet surprise!

We stopped on our way home from East Zion in Cedar City for lunch at Panda Express. My fortune cookie said, "today you will receive a note from someone you love"! When I got home...

This package was sitting by my back door!❤️ My new and sweet friend Mel McGee from Zgrants Pass Oregon had sent me this box filled with supplies to learn the art of needle felting! She enclosed a wonderful card of love❤️ Thank you Mel!

Our trip brought us to Cedar mountain looking down on beautiful Zion Nationsl Park in the distance!
On east Zion there is the Ponderosa Buffalo ranch, in their bing sun these huge beasts of history majestically stand a reminder of our pioneer history! They are beautiful animals and a symbol of strength and endurance!
On this very cold and  windy morning I got this shot of morning breakfast for this herd of horses!

🌻Mt. Carmel Get Away

We decided it was time again to do a little getaway so we booked a room at Mt. Carmel Jct for Friday night. This destination was about an hours drive for us to the east side of Zion! I live for get always and vacations! Road trips are so fun! I am always on the hunt for treasure whether it be virtual, physical, or spiritual it is always the hunt and then the find that brings so much happiness! This was our virtual treasure... A little lake near the tiny town of Alton Utah! Morning sun glistening off the water makes my heart skip a beat!

Where's my dog?

Oliver got his first. Grooming and they shaved all his personality off! It was sad when I went to get h he didn't look or act the same! I hope his curls grow back soon along with his personality😪

Gunlock Reservoir

On our nostalgia drive we stopped to take in the beauty of Gunlock Reservoir it was so nice to be by the water and listen to the sounds if the quiet morning! It was chilly though so we didn't stay long! We collected a couple pieces of driftwood that I am going to try to paint on!
Then as we were getting close to the water we saw this clever evidence that children had been there playing while their parents fished in the lake! It was a fort of some kind they had fashioned with old logs and sticks! They had also lined a little path to the fort with river rocks! I live imagination especially in children so I just had to share!
The clouds around the lake were stunning! The water so clear and blue, and alongside ther was a herd of wild mules! We couldn't get close enough to photograph! All in all it was a true trip down memory lane and a day filled with miracles of nature! We even were blessed at the end of the day with a rainbow❤️ Not common here because of lack if rain but so loved when they come!

Utah Hill

Today we took a ride back in time! We left St. George on old Hwy 91 up over Utah Hill going south. This is the old route we too back in the 1940-50's to get from Hurricane to Las Vegas or California. The old highway had a long hill that was only single lane! All traffic took this Gil! It is the heart if the Mojave Desert and in the summer was Britain. Car engines! Len is standing next to a man made cisterene that collected rain and spring water for travelers to replenish the water in the old canvas water bags that hung on the front of cars back then! This stop was at the top of the hill! There used to be a cafe and motel for travelers who got stranded there in the winter due to snow or whose cats overheate in the hot sun of summer!
I remember this stop as a very young child. We took this drive to remember and see the things locked in my memory! Many if the things are not there anymore but upon asking mo and dad about them I found my memories to be real. There used to be these square concrete things every so often all the way up the hill! Each concrete square about 4 feet square had a pipe that came out the front that road crews kept filled with water for overheating cars on the hill! We looked and looked for them but didn't find them, but they did exist! Not sure what this little cave was for! The entry was framed with concrete but now it is used for people to go to the bathroom it smells like! Yuck!
This is a top view of the old cistern.
